Vote 1 Michael McNally for NTEU Queensland Division Secretary
Standing Up for Secure Work, Fair Pay, and Better Universities
I have the privilege of serving as your Division Secretary for the NTEU Queensland Division. I take the responsibility of this position very seriously and continually strive to do better for members and the Union across the State and across the country. I enjoy the support of elected leaders from all the Queensland Branches.
If re-elected, I will continue to fight relentlessly against university business models built on insecure work and ridiculous workloads. We are taking action to stop toxic and unsafe workplaces.
My Record of Action
Fierce Enterprise Bargaining
I have been on the front lines negotiating enterprise agreements across Queensland, from UQ to JCU, ensuring that the real experiences of both professional and academic staff are brought directly to the bargaining table. Working with members I have helped them secure world class Agreements.
Better Universities
Members in Queensland have made an integral contribution to the national campaign around university governance. I have provided significant leadership and strategic support to this work. As a result, more people are becoming aware that university management is broken and that collective action through the NTEU is the pathway to reforming our universities.
Strong Representation
When members’ rights or conditions are threatened, I am there to respond. I believe the best outcomes are achieved when members organise and act together, and I work to support that collective response wherever possible. At the same time, when an individual member needs support, I will be there to back them every step of the way.
The Fight Ahead
University managements are becoming more belligerent and aggressive in their bargaining tactics. More and more members are experiencing toxic workplaces. We are building our network of trained leaders and workplace representative to push back against rising managerialism.
We need to keep our momentum going. Vote 1 Michael McNally to maintain strong, experienced, and uncompromising leadership.
